Work and home life can be interchangeable

Both men and women should be equal in today’s society. Neither should feel less or more than the other. We should all be respected equally whether it’s our gender or our race. Whether it’s home life or work life.

Over periods of time women have been viewed very differently, due to their job, physical appearance or personality. Or in other cases society likes to call women “homemakers.” What does that mean? Well you see, society pictures the “Porcelain wife/mommy” at home: cooking, cleaning, taking care of her kids and as well caring for her hardworking husband.

I personally witness this in my life. My mom used to be a stay at home mom but everything change in 2001 when my father suffered from a stroke. My mom realized she needed to work to be able to support her four kids and her husband. After my father’s therapy he was able to do things by himself, therefore, in the year of 2015 my father decided to work in a family business my uncle had, but two years later, June 4, 2017 my father received his second stroke. He was unable to work again to help out my mother. Although he seems perfectly fine, he has lost arm strength. He stays home 24/7 doing the duties a stay home mom would do. He cooks and cleans around the house.

It bugs me when I hear those people that are so stereotypical and believe women should be at home 24/7. Even if both partners work, house work should be able to split in half between them and the children as well. Women should be do work in any job as they desire whether it’s the “manly” or “womanly” jobs. I pursue to show my children in the future that they should always be equal with others and never discriminate base on gender or race.
