Many derive the inspiration from reality. And some movies, rather terrible, become even more frightening when you begin to realize that all this really happened.

In total 7 tourists whom Milat killed or shot became the victims. The maniac and would remain not caught if not a lucky coincidence: its eighth victim managed to run away and reach police station.

In the 90th Milat undermined travel business of Sydney as startled a series of murders all district.

Real story of Silvia Laykens, 16 summer girls who together with the sister were left on care to the alcoholic not by absolutely responsible parents.
Within several months the woman, her five children and neighbour’s children scoffed at the victim, beating, cruelly torturing and starving. Younger sister of Silvia had poliomyelitis and hardly moved, and neighbors, hearing shouts of the girl from the cellar, did not even try to help her.

Soon, after attempt to run away, Silvia was beaten to death by the torturers.
This case in the USA was called “the worst crime against the person in the history of Indiana”. About Gertrude Banischewski and her biography it is possible to find a lot of information. Really, one of the most terrible murderers. It is remarkable that despite serious term, Gertrude was released from prison ahead of schedule for good behavior. And many of her children participating in punishment over the young girl were not brought to trial in view of the early childhood at all, and quietly continued to live in the house.

Fatal combination of circumstances became a cause of death of married couple in the high sea and formed the basis of the eponymous movie.
In 1998 because of disorder of instructors the boat accidentally left two divers, Tomasa and Aylin Lonergan, in the high sea. How the team departured having missed two tourists — remains an open question. The movie not really famous to general public, with quite contradictory responses. A story about the company of young people, by mistake of locked in a hot sauna, is based on the real story which occurred in Georgia.
In reality three men were locked by the tipsy friend for 10 hours in a sauna. The last went to a toilet and simply forgot about vacationers. As this story ended without the victims — it is difficult to tell. Men had to spend long hours in an intolerable heat.

History of the American serial killer — Jeffrey Dahmer. 17 young men and men whom he met mainly in gay clubs became its victims.
